    Reflections of 2020

Due to the current pandemic, all of our scheduled programming had to be cancelled for the summer and fall. We entered a hibernation mode for the summer time, shifting our focus to renovations and community building. Some wonderful improvements to our facilities include: Brand new deck, ready to accommodate larger groups to enjoy outdoor dining & activities New/Old entryways, connecting the old Mamalahoa Hwy to present usage Silver oak gate : Our first beautiful example of us

    Benefits of Shinrin-yoku: Forest Bathing

Shinrin-yoku is an ancient practice but the term was coined in 1982 by Tomohide Akiyama. The Japanese term shinrin-yoku means “forest bathing”. This metaphorical term is a gentle practice of connecting with nature by spending quality time in a forest, generally two or more hours. We want to offer a “Local Travel/Activity Guide” for anyone who is looking to plan a fun-filled day with their ʻohana. We like the idea of spending quality time with one another; exploring new landscapes, enjoying the natural

Where do they come from and what do they mean? We may never have precise answers to these questions but we can speculate from the place of mōʻike "dream interpretation". Dreams consist of a series of pictorial images and ideas that eventually elude us upon waking, yet they can impress long lasting feelings, emotions, a

Screen Time to Green Time: Let The Children Play

As a little keiki, being outside was the most fascinating and wondrous place to be. There were trees to climb, heights to see, forests to crawl through, forts to build, and an ocean to swim in.
